Dave and Karen were spending time on their patio for the first time since pring had started. The snow had melted and the early cool rains had ceased. Summer had finally arrived.

Dave stood by the grill flipping burgers and broccoli
as Karen sat reading a novel, sitting in a new patios chair by their new patio table.

Karen leaned foward and put her elbow on the table. To her surprise the table tipped down slightely under the weight. When she lifted her elbow, the table tipped up again. "Oh no!" Sha wailed, "Our new patio furniture is defective!"

Dave immediately stopped what he was doing and examined the faulty table. It did in fact seem to be untable. "Well at least it's still under warrenty" said Dave.

"I really wanted to eat outside, it's such a beautiful day" Karen was beside herself.

"Let me see what I can do" dave said as he began to further investigate the problem of the tipping table. After some time, he decided to wedge a folded up napkin under one of the table legs.

"My hero" exclaimed Karen.
"All in a days work" Dave smiled as he thumbed his chest haughtily."

Though there patio furniture had been saved,Dave and Karens Burgers had been burned to a crisp.

The Big Game.

"Beer?"
"Check!"
"Pretzels?"
"Check"
"Hot wings?"
"Just about to come out of the oven!"

Frank and Ralph were ready. It was the day of the big game. Twenty minutes to go. Frank dug into the case of beers just as Ralph bounded into the living room from the kitchen.

Unexpected the television antenna caught Ralph's shirt and no sooner than it had, it ben and brok in half. The television immediately went to static.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Screamed Frank and Ralph.
"What now?" Yelled Frank.
"I've doomed us both!" Wailed Ralph.

Ralph touched the broken end of the antenna and picture sprang back to life. "Look!" he said. "It's back"

"Just keeping standing there." Said Frank.

Ralph had an idea. He ran to the closet and ripped out a coat hanger. He started tearing at it and unbending it apart.

"You've gone mad!" yelled Frank, "Come to your senses!"

However Ralph purseued his madness and shoved the end of the unbent coathanger into the broken end of the antenna. Just as he did, the game appeared in perfect clarity.

"Here's to miracles!" the two friends toasted as beer bottled clinked
"Do I smell something burning" asked Frank.

The theme is saving the day but burning the food.
